Noah's Ark

Noah is learning so much at church (and at home) about the scriptures.  He's so cute when he talks about Noah the Prophet.  I'm pretty sure our conversation went like this:

Noah: "Mom, I was a prophet."
Me: "Oh, really?"
N: "Yeah, I was."
M: "Oh, you mean at church you were pretending to be the prophet?"
N: "No. I was really a prophet."
M: "Did you act out something, or hold up a picture of the prophet?"
N: "No. I was the prophet.  You know, the Prophet Noah?"
M: "Oh! hehe.  Yeah, I know what you mean. No, you weren't a prophet.  But, you're named after a prophet."

He's so cute.  I LOVE the conversations I have with him, he's getting so smart.

Last Sunday at church he drew this without being prompted...
Noah's Ark (he even drew a window) :)

Pumpkin Patch

This year was our families first trip to the pumpkin patch!!!  Why hadn't we gone before? 2007 Noah was a baby and we didn't think to take him, 2008 Brian was in Tech school, 2009 Swine Flu hit our house (everyone but me), 2010... UGH!  Worst October, EVER!  I think death came to our house but decided just stay for a little while.  We dealt with ER visit after ER visit, Brian being super sick, the kids getting sick, and some how I was healthy through it all (except ER visit #1, someone needed to take care of everyone).  This year however, I'm determined to keep us healthy and participate in as many fall activities as we can.  To start us off we visited Agua Linda Farms.  I don't remember pumpkin patches being so... dirty!!  I guess as a kid you don't notice stuff like that (or care how dirty your new clean van gets).  But as an adult things seem smaller, dirtier, and not that exciting.  Luckily, we have 3 amazing boys who get to remind us what it is all about.  Noah had a blast!  Here are a few pictures from our time at the pumpkin patch.

I got my van!!!!!

It's official, I'm a "soccer-mom".  My son plays soccer and I drive a mini-van, and couldn't be more excited.  I use to talk about how lame they were when I was in high school and that I would never buy one. I would get a SUV.  HA!  Have an SUV (& still love it), but what a huge difference the in the space and convenience in a mini-van.  I have been looking for one for the past year regularly and finally found one that was well within my price rang (super cheap), and low miles (very low).  I would go back and forth about wanting/needing one.  Finally we've recently paid off the BMW and I love having no car payment so I decided to stop looking for a van and just be content with what I had.  Then I stumbled across a listing on craigslist and ended up with this...

It's a 2001 Honda Odyssey EX, with only 32,000 miles!!  It's in amazing condition and I'm so grateful to have been blessed with this opportunity for our family.  I know it wasn't just dumb luck that I decided to randomly search "odyssey" the day the ad was posted.

Soccer

The time has come.  We've officially started our journey into sports.  It's not surprising, and to be honest both Brian and I are very excited about the possibility of our boys playing sports.  My grocery bill on the other hand... not looking forward to that in a few years.  Can you imagine?

Back on topic. Noah started soccer!!!  He's so cute.  He's having so much fun, and we're working on the crying.  He's a very sensitive person, but in a very sweet way.  He is also a SORE loser.  I think he gets that from his dad.  I think being competitive is in Noah's DNA, between Brian & I it's bound to happen.  He is a little distracted, but for his first season I'm happy.  Most importantly, I'm happy he's having fun!  I just wanted something where he could have fun and get some exercise.  So, no baseball in our immediate future.  If he decides he would like to play that, fine.  But until then, I want my boys active and burning off some of that energy!  Here are a few pictures I've taken along with a video (I want to apologize now for the poor quality of the video).
He's only a little taller then the other kids, lol.

randoms

This post will be mostly pictures with captions of what is going on.  This is just random happenings in our life during the past month+.

 Joey @ 7 months (8/20/11)

Noah's first ride in his booster seat.  I kept him in his convertible car seat until he officially was over the height limit (@ 4 1/2 years old).

We were at Sports Authority getting Noah his soccer gear and found the football equipment (look at those smiles).

Joey eating banana

...still oblivious to the banana on his nose :)

We have fun during the boys (Logan & Joey) nap times.

Having fun while waiting for his brothers.

My little shopping buddy (still waiting on his brothers).

Found him under the train table.  He keeps crawling under, but gets mad when he bumps his head (every time).

:)  My boys all playing together.

Um... no comment. lol

Milestones

(This was supposed to be posted on 9/10/11, guess I messed up and forgot to post it :-/ )
It has been just over a week in the month of September, and it's been filled with Joey milestones!!  He's been trying REALLY hard to crawl.  He has been moving around a little here and there, but just last week he's figured it out.  It started off as a scoot and in just a week he's an official army crawler. (this movie is a little long and not very well lit, but you get the idea...)

Then 3 days after scooting around he had his first 2 teeth come through.  It's been a "fun" experience with that since I only nursed my other 2 until about 3-4 months.  But he's super cute with his little teeth, and he thinks he's pretty funny when he bites someone (me).

Today came the final recent milestone...
I came into his room after his morning nap to see him sitting up like such a big boy!  It was no fluke either. After his second nap Brian happened to be home and I sent him in to see Joey sitting up again!!  So that turned into a night of lowing the crib.  I switched the middle height because he's already trying to pull himself up objects.

I can't believe how fast my little baby boy is growing.  I know he's already 7 months, but it truly does seem like just yesterday that he was born.

Logan jumping off the diving board

While we were in Cali, Logan showed us just how big he is.

July visitors

After our family left in June, we had a 2 weeks and then The Maughans came to visit for the 4th of July :)  This family is very special to us. Rachel and I have known each other since we were 13, and Brian and Ryan probably just as long.  Luckily, our kids get along great, and I'm pretty sure that Logan and Aly were best friends before they came to earth.   It's so nice to have another family we can hang out with and everyone is happy and entertained.

I just realized that most of the pictures were taken by Rachel, but here is a few that I took with my camera.

Logan was in trouble for getting the backyard muddy and then playing in it. Aly took off her clothes (kept on the diaper to be modest) and decided to join him in the bath.
Unfortunately, that was only the 1st time that playing in the mud happened during their visit.

Noah and Iz were playing so nicely while we dealt with the other 2 beasts :)

During our visit with The Maughans, my mom came for a visit.  We went to The Pima Air and Space Museum and then hung out for pizza that night.
